At the military parade in Nicosia on October 1, the National Guard of Cyprus will present the latest weapons, including tactical H145M tactical helicopters, which have recently been adopted, as well as modern French and Israeli systems.
The main event will be the spans over the capital of the H145M multi -purpose military helicopters, which arrived at the Andreas Papandreu air base in Paphos in May of this year. These cars are considered one of the most advanced in their class and have already held training flights over Nikosia on the eve of the parade.
According to military sources, the parade can also be demonstrated by French anti-tank portable anti-aircraft missile systems Akeron installed on Sherpa armored vehicles. Akeron missile system ensures the defeat of goals outside the line of sight, which significantly expands the capabilities of the national guard. The contract for the supply of 12 Sherpa armored vehicles was signed in May during the International Arms Exhibition of Defea in Athens.
At the same time, the Barak MX purchased by the Israeli anti-aircraft missile system will not participate in the parade.
Recall that last year the National Guard first demonstrated the Israeli Spike LR2 missiles, which then became a new element of the Arsenal of the Cyprus Army.
The military parade will be held on October 1 on Joseph Hajiosif Avenue in Strevolos in honor of the 65th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Cyprus.
