The Department of Forestry of the Ministry of Agriculture, the development of rural regions and the environment of Cyprus said that the observation deck on the Troodos -Prodromos was recognized as unsafe for visiting.
Damage to the wooden flooring made it potentially dangerous for tourists and local residents. In this regard, from September 30, 2025, the site will be closed until completely recovery.
Experts have already begun assessment of the state of the design and preparation for repair work. The main goal is to restore the observation point so that it again becomes safe and convenient for visits. According to the authorities, the repair will be carried out in the shortest possible time, and the facility will be returned after a thorough verification.
The Forestry Department apologized for possible inconvenience and emphasized that the safety of visitors is always in the first place. Prior to the completion of the repair, access to the site will be strictly prohibited, and tourists are recommended to choose alternative routes and viewing platforms of the region.
The Troodos Mountain Array is one of the most popular places for ecotourism in Cyprus. The viewing platforms in this zone allow you to enjoy the views of dense forests, mountain ranges and valleys. Every year, thousands of tourists come here to discover the natural beauty of the island. Therefore, the restoration of the damaged object is not only practical, but also strategic importance for the development of tourism in the region.
While the observation point on the Troodos - Prodromos is closed, travelers are recommended to pay attention to alternative routes - for example, viewing platforms in the Dendro or Olympos area, which also open picturesque panoramas.
