On the road leading to the British military bases in acrotiri, unknown people established signs with the inscription "British base of genocide" in English and Greek.
The incident called a wave of discussion. The investigation is engaged in the police of the British military bases. Photos of the plates were published on social networks by activists, who claim that British bases in Cyprus participate in intelligence operations in the interests of Israel. They claim that London deliberately hides the role of acrotiri in current events in the Middle East and that the British Air Force supposedly contribute to the military operations of the IDF.
The representative of the British bases said that the signs were promptly deleted, and the incident would be investigated. He also emphasized that "not a single air forces of the British Air Force transported the deadly cargo for the Israeli Defense Army (IDF)."
“We are cooperating with international partners for de -escalation of the conflict, strengthening stability and supporting humanitarian efforts in the region,” the representative added. He also noted that "any use of the British bases corresponds to these goals and will correspond to it in the future."
However, this is not the first time that activists connect Cyprus and British bases with the war in gas. A few months ago, activist Matt Bonner placed his work in the London metro depicting the plane over the Cyprus map and the red line starting from the island and heading towards Gaza. At the end of the journey, the bomb lands in the gas sector.
