On Wednesday, November 19, the OMEGA Channel's evening news broadcast presented the first major results of a sociological survey that reflected the mood of the residents of Cyprus.
The survey recorded that the majority of citizens remain dissatisfied with the president’s activities in various areas, and also express skepticism regarding the work of the government and parliament.
According to published data, 68% of survey participants said they were not satisfied with the president's actions: 30% were completely disappointed, and 38% rather did not support his work. Only 31% of respondents spoke positively, with 24% rating the president’s performance as “fairly satisfactory” and 7% as “very good”. If we look at the dynamics of recent years, then in the first year of the presidency of Nikos Christodoulides, the indicators of dissatisfaction and satisfaction were almost at the same level - 49% versus 41% in 2023. The gap gradually widened and reached a maximum by March 2025, after which there was a slight convergence of positions.
In most areas, the president receives low marks, and only in foreign policy is there a relative balance, where the number of those who are satisfied barely noticeably exceeds the share of those who are negative.
Citizens do not evaluate the work of the government as a whole in the best way: three out of four respondents expressed dissatisfaction, and among those who nevertheless expressed support, only 4% noted that they were completely satisfied with what was happening.
The indicators for parliament are even more critical: 78% of respondents expressed dissatisfaction with the activities of deputies, and only 19% said that they had a positive opinion about the work of the legislative body.
The study was conducted by Pulse Market Research on behalf of the OMEGA Channel and covered residents across the country. The sample included 1,005 people over 18 years of age; the survey took place from November 4 to November 13, 2025. All data has been adjusted to take into account demographic characteristics and the results of the 2021 parliamentary elections.
