The US Navy supply vessel, refueling tanker USNS Laramie, has moored at the port of Limassol. The ship arrived for scheduled maintenance and crew rest.
US Ambassador to Cyprus Julie Fisher welcomed the ship in a message on Platform X, noting its important role in supporting the combat readiness of the US fleet in Europe.
“We welcome USNS Laramie to Limassol for routine maintenance and personnel rest,” the ambassador said.
The vessel, named after the Laramie River in the US states of Colorado and Wyoming, plays a key role in supplying fuel to ships and aircraft, supporting US Navy operations in the region.
The presence of US warships in the port of Limassol underscores the strategic importance of Cyprus as an important partner in the Eastern Mediterranean.
