The Kazakh government on Monday, January 13, confirmed that it plans to open an embassy in Cyprus soon.
The decision was made during a meeting in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, between the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Roman Vasilenko.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus welcomed the decision, noting that it comes against the backdrop of the recent opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Astana.
Vasilenko and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andreas Kakuris discussed ways to further develop bilateral relations, including in the areas of investment, tourism and consular services.
