Data on the number of foreigners legally residing in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus was provided by the head of the Ministry of Migration, Nicholas Ioannidis.
The largest number of residence permits in Cyprus - 40,735 - belong to Russian citizens. They are followed by citizens of the UK (16,279) and Nepal (15,607). There are also 14,237 Indian citizens, 12,868 Syrian citizens, 9,407 Chinese citizens, 8,895 Sri Lankan citizens, 8,807 Filipino citizens, 6,172 Ukrainian citizens, 4,860 Egyptian citizens and 37,810 citizens of other countries who have legal immigration status.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs statistics include holders of permanent residence of the Republic of Cyprus, work and visitor visas, nomad visas, immigration permits (F visa), student visas, housekeepers and domestic helpers visas. If we add about 16 thousand applicants for refugee status and 16,153 holders of temporary protection status, we get a total of almost 210 thousand third-country nationals legally residing in the country.
