The American president, Donald Trump, has decided to temporarily exempt Hungary from the sanctions imposed by the United States on countries that buy Russian natural gas. He announced the relevant decision himself, welcoming Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán to the White House.
According to a US official, the exemption will be valid for one year.
In return, Budapest pledged to buy six hundred million dollars worth of American liquefied natural gas.
