Russia's armed forces launched a large-scale offensive against Ukrainian territory in the early hours of the night, targeting energy infrastructure.
According to the Minister of Energy, Svitlana Hrinchuk, many areas of the country have been left without electricity.
The authorities in Kharkiv and Sumi reported a series of explosions, while in Odessa there is talk of damage to energy infrastructure.
Russian strikes are ongoing and have already caused widespread damage to electricity generation and distribution facilities and natural gas infrastructure, raising strong concerns that the winter will be difficult.
