The KOA met with the Anorthosis, Nea Salamina and Ethniko Achnas Associations regarding their upgrading

A meeting with the refugee Unions of Anorthosis, Nea Salamina and Ethniko Achnas took place on Friday 7 November 2025 at the offices of the Cyprus Sports Organization, in order to investigate the progress of the procedures for upgrading their stadiums.

In particular, the President of the KOM Yiannis Ioannou and the member of the Board of Directors Andreas Papallis, as well as the competent officials of the Organization, welcomed the heads of the three Associations (Kyriakos Prastitis for Anorthosis, Kikis Filippou for the National Achnas and Giannos Chrysostomou for Nea Salamina), in the presence of the President of the Stadium Licensing Authority Giorgos Karas, members of the AAS (Paschalina Magniti, Panagiota Tampa), consultants-researchers and other executives of the three Unions. Famagusta Member of Parliament Christos Senekis also attended the meeting.

Following the meetings that have been held on this matter, the involved bodies discussed the actions that have been taken and determined the next steps, in order to implement the upgrading of the stadiums of the three refugee clubs.

The Cypriot Sports Organization and the Stadium Licensing Authority expressed their satisfaction with the actions taken so far by the Associations, with the President of the KOA reiterating the will of the Organization and the State for substantial improvements to the sports infrastructure of the associations. The next meeting was set for January 15, 2026.
