Increased traffic at Cyprus airports during the festive season

Increased traffic is observed at the Cypriot airports of Larnaca and Paphos, in the midst of the festive season.

For example, on the day after Christmas, Friday 26 December, 65 arrivals from international destinations and 38 departures are scheduled at Larnaca airport. At the same time, at Paphos airport, 14 arrivals and 13 departures are scheduled.

In addition, passenger traffic at the two airports was increased throughout 2025. According to data published on the website of the managing company Hermes Airports, already for the first 11 months of 2025, passenger traffic had exceeded the passenger traffic of all of 2024. Specifically, in the period January-November 2025, 9,365,329 passengers passed through the airport of Larnaca and 3,640,954 from Paphos airport. The corresponding passenger traffic for the whole of 2024 was 8,661,354 for Larnaca and 3,633,990 for Paphos.

Due to the increased passenger traffic observed during the holidays, the parking lot at Larnaca Airport operates with limited availability due to increased demand. A representative of the management company told KYPE that these days there is increased demand due to the Christmas holiday season.

It is noted that 500 new parking spaces were added this year, with availability reaching 3,500 spaces.

The company urges the traveling public to pre-book a parking space online through the website of the managing company Hermes Airports to ensure availability, while if it cannot secure a parking space online it is urged to consider other possible solutions.

It is noted that with the online reservation the parking space is guaranteed. Therefore, those who made their reservation will be made the necessary arrangements to be served.
