European Investment Bank executives (EIB) visited the construction site of the new student housing "Verengaria" of the Cyprus Technology University in Polemidia on Monday, September 29th.
The EIB was represented by Vice President Kyriakos Kakouris and Ioannis Tsakiris and Nikos Yambidis, a member of the EIB Investment Team for Greece and Cyprus. The visit was attended by the leadership and other university executives.
During the visit there was an extensive discussion on the progress of the work of the Student Homes and other TEPAK projects funded by the EIB. EIB executives expressed their very positive satisfaction with the progress of work, emphasizing the quality construction, speed of implementation and the significant contribution of the project to society. In addition, they have been positive about the possibility of future cooperation with the Technology University of Cyprus in subsequent projects and investment initiatives.
The work of the Student Homes "Verengaria" is part of the overall planning of TEPAK to improve university education in Cyprus and to provide accessible housing to students and students.
The Student Homes "Verengaria" are expected to have 500 fully furnished rooms with all the necessary amenities. The building facilities will also include a fully equipped restaurant, a large conference room, student reception offices, living rooms, spaces for daily activities and gym.
The project will be implemented in two phases: the first phase is expected to be completed in 2026, with the delivery and operation of 150 rooms, while the second phase, completed in 2027, will include the delivery of the rest of the rooms.
