The head of the International Atomic Energy Organization, Rafael Grossi, said there was no immediate danger to the Zaporizia nuclear power plant in Ukraine, which operates thanks to backup generators.
Mr Grossi noted, however, that the situation is not viable in terms of nuclear security, adding that Europe's largest nuclear power plant lacks external electricity for more than 7 days.
At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski described the situation at the nuclear station critical.
From a Russian point of view, the Kremlin described Ukrainian accusations that Moscow bombarded the nuclear station, noting that the station's facilities are controlled by the Russian forces.
