Root editions announce the release of the autobiography of Nina Chatzimiltis (1934-2024), entitled "Nina-My History" (Nicosia 2025).
Nina Chatzimilti's autobiography unfolds the course of a woman who has experienced decisive moments of modern Cypriot history: from her childhood to Limassol, her participation in the liberation struggle of EOKA (1955-1959) as a personal link to George Limassol of EOKA and later Ambassador, Municipality of Chatzimilti, with a diplomatic service in New York (1960-1969), Moscow (1969-1979) and Athens (1979-1988).
Through the pages of the book, pivotal historical events unfold in which either the writer lived or lived by the author. As the dean of the School of Philosophy of the University of Cyprus, Petros Papapoliviou, typically points out in the preface to the book:
I have been expecting the release of this book for many years, since I got to know it better and I was friendly with its author, Nina Drousiotou-Chatzimilti. Nina is a glittering personality, a steadfast and cheerful man, an excellent husband, mother and grandmother, an excellent girlfriend. In addition, in her youth, little girl, in the liberation struggle of 1955-1959, took over and accomplished important missions and critical duties, culminating in the fact that she was one of the few who knew the greatest secret of EOKA, the hideout of the leader. He enjoyed the absolute confidence of the leader of the organization, whose personal association, as well as the Department of Limassol and her close associate, of the late Municipality, Mr. Chatzimiltis, one of the top 1955-1959 fighters, with whom he married him. And so, marriage and family They were the natural continuation of love for their freedom and their involvement in the armed struggle for the union of Cyprus with Greece.
