10/01/2025 – The Men's National Handball Team defeated Bulgaria 22-21, getting their EHF Euro 2028 EHF Euro 2028 qualifying campaign off to a flying start.
11/01/2025 – The Men's National Handball team lost 28-26 to Great Britain in the second match of the first phase of the EHF Euro 2028 qualifiers.
12/01/2025 – The Men's National Handball team comfortably defeated Malta 43-18 in the final match of the first phase of the EHF Euro 2028 qualifiers, taking second place and together with Great Britain qualified for the Promotion Round, the games of which will be played in January 2026.

05/02/2025 – Cyprus is ready to host EuroBasket 2025, was the main message during the official dinner entitled "on the way to FIBA EUROBASKET 2025" at the Presidential Palace, in the presence of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides and top officials of FIBA and FIBA Europe.
10/02/2025 – The silver medal at the Pan-European Karate Championship, held in Poland, was won by Loizos Vassiliou in the U21 – 84kg category.
13/02/2025 – The match between Omonia and Paphos, at GSP, for the Conference League play-offs ended in a 1-1 draw. APOEL drew 2-2 in Slovenia with Celje for the same phase of the competition.
20/02/2025 – Paphos achieved a historic qualification to the "16" of the Conference League by defeating Omonia 2-1 in the match that took place at the Alphamega Stadium. On the other hand, disqualification for APOEL after the 0-2 defeat by Chelie in the GSP.

27/02/2025 – The "Sofoulis Stylianou" Futsal Cup was won by Omonia, winning the final with an 8-6 victory over Skyling AEK.

03/01/2025 – Elena Kulichenko, with a jump of 1.95 m, broke the Cypriot world record at the height of 1.93 m. of Leontias Kallenou, since March 13, 2015. In Fayetteville, Arkansas, she won the gold medal at the NCAA indoor track and field finals, also wearing the jersey of the University of Georgia.

14-15/03/2025 – The 24th European Throwing Cup was held at the GSP National Athletics Stadium. Iosif Kesidis won the historic first gold medal for Cyprus at the European Throwing Cup, breaking his own Cypriot world record in the under-23 hammer throw with a throw of 72.96m.
21/03/2025 – A winning start for the Cyprus Men's National Football Team in the qualifying phase of the 2026 World Cup as they beat San Marino 2-0 at the AEK Arena.

27-31/05/2025 – The 20th Games of Small European States took place in Andorra. Cyprus participated with 183 athletes. Cyprus topped the Games after 14 years as it secured a total of 108 medals: 36 gold, 30 silver, 42 bronze.
30/05/2025 – The Women's National Team suffered a 1-0 defeat by Malta at the country's National Stadium and ended their hopes of winning first place in Group 2 of Division C of the Nations League.
