Turkey and Armenia have announced the mutual relaxation of visa procedures, starting in the New Year, taking another step towards the normalization of their relations, as announced by the foreign ministers of the two countries.
Now, holders of diplomatic, special and official passports will be able to issue a free electronic visa.
Turkey had closed its border with Armenia in 1993, after the first Karabakh war, between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Since then, their diplomatic relations were severed, but at the end of 2021 the process of rapprochement began, with the appointment of special envoys.
