The Greek Cypriots missing from the 1963 period are approximately 45, of which 20 have been located, the Greek Cypriot representative at the Investigative Committee for Missing Persons, Leonidas Pantelidis, told KYPE.
He said that the 16 were located in Hamit Madres and all 4 were identified in the tekke area in occupied Nicosia, whose identification is imminent.
Mr. Pantelidis also stated that he will do whatever it takes to investigate the information about the mass murder of eighty Greek Cypriots around 1963.
Earlier, Yussuf Kisa, owner of the newspaper Yeni Bakis, citing an eyewitness at the time, who passed away 10 years ago, said that he was told that about 80 Greek Cypriots were beheaded and thrown into a well.
Mr Pantelidis said he would try to contact Kisa and investigate the information, particularly whether he could point them to the location of the alleged mass grave in a well.
However, he noted that well burials were not common at the time.
