US: Trump warns he will withhold wages from air traffic controllers

US President Donald Trump has said he will withhold wages from air traffic controllers who do not immediately return to work.

He added that he would recommend giving a $10,000 bonus to those who did not miss work during the 41-day shutdown of the federal government.

The fiscal paralysis has suspended a number of public services.

More than 1,500 domestic flights were canceled today as the federal government's default continues and a shortage of air traffic controllers also wreaks havoc on air transport.
