A new US strike against two ships allegedly involved in drug trafficking in the eastern Pacific Ocean killed six people, the US Defense Secretary announced.
Pete Hegseth said US agencies knew the boats were carrying drugs and were passing through a known drug trafficking route.
The United States has been conducting frequent airstrikes in the Pacific and – mainly – the Caribbean since the beginning of September, targeting high-speed ships it claims belong to drug traffickers.
A total of 76 people have lost their lives from the American strikes.
