On April 14, on the great Monday, at about 20:00 in the Church of Agia Paraskevi in Geroskipa, Paphos, a 40-year-old man was arrested, who violated the course of worship with his aggressive behavior.
According to police, the man burst into the temple during the service, shouted loudly and behaved defiantly, which caused anxiety among parishioners. Police officers who discovered the offender at the church were immediately called to the scene.
When trying to establish an identity, a man, according to law enforcement officers, resisted and attacked the police. As a result, he was arrested on the spot on suspicion of attacking a representative of the authorities.
During the search, the detainee found firecrackers and a small amount of narcotic substances that were seized. The offender was a resident of Paphos.
He is currently in custody and is assisting in the investigation. The investigation of the incident is engaged in the Bureau for the petty offenses of Paphos.
