From April 3 to April 5, 2026, the popular Cyprus Gran Fondo cycling race, one of the leading and biggest cycling races in Cyprus, will be held.
According to a press release by the organizers, Activate Cyprus, the race gathers hundreds of athletes and athletes from around the world each year, while more than 400 cyclists from 37 countries participated in last year.
As noted, based on the entry statements so far for the Cyprus Gran Fondo 2026, the forthcoming event may exceed these numbers.
The race took place for the first time in 2013 as Volkswagen Cyprus Cycling Tour, and since 2017 it is included in the UCI Gran Fondo World Series calendar. The focus of the three -day action is Paphos, with the area significantly benefiting from the descent of hundreds of cyclists from around the world.
An important factor in attracting cyclists, both from Cyprus and abroad, is the fact that 25% will have the opportunity to ensure the opportunity to qualify for the final of the World Championship. The final will take place in Japan, a country with a long tradition of cycling and is therefore an additional incentive for many cyclists to achieve qualification and travel to the beautiful country of the rising sun.
The race is under the auspices of the Cyprus Cycling Federation.
