Elena Pericles was appointed by the Council of Ministers as a Commissioner for the Protection of Rights of the Child.
Ms. Pericles is a teacher and has been a Cultural Education Coordinator at the Ministry of Culture.
Teacher and writer, Elena Pericles, undertakes the portfolio of the Bureau of Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of the Child, after the completion of Desos Michaelidou's term.
The new Commissioner is a teacher, and in particular, Director of Primary Education, who is now seconded to the Ministry of Culture.
It is noted that Mrs Pericles has a rich writing work mainly in children's literature as she has authored and published several children's books.
