The Limassol court released all seven suspects in the beating and robbery of a pensioner

The Limassol court released all seven suspects in the beating and robbery of a pensioner

On September 2, the Limassol court released all those previously arrested in the case of beating and robbery on the night of August 21 of a 64-year-old Greek Cypriot: two orphanage girls aged 15 and 16, two 18-year-old girls, a 17-year-old boy and two men 20 and 24 years. The first hearing in this case is scheduled for September 20.

Two minors will be taken under the close care of the social service of the Republic of Cyprus (previously they repeatedly ran away from a state shelter). The remaining five signed guarantees in the amount of 5,000 euros and handed over their passports and IDs. They are prohibited from leaving the country. They are required to report to the police twice a week.

The 64-year-old pensioner is not only a victim, but also a suspect. The investigation suggests that we are talking about sexual violence against two minors and harassment against one of the 18-year-old girls. The investigation continues “in complete secrecy and confidentiality.”
