VTTI Cyprus, remaining true to its commitment to protecting the environment and strengthening environmental awareness, carried out on Thursday, December 4, a cleaning action on Governor's Beach, in collaboration with CYMEPA and the Primary School of Agia Anna - (Eco School), as part of the Volunteer Week 2025 of the Cyprus Volunteer Coordinating Council (CVCC), organized by December 1-8.
The action, which was included in the official program of the PSSE, began with a visit of the students and volunteers to the PROTEAS Facility in Pentakomos, offering a unique educational experience on resource management and sustainability within the Cypriot Centaurs initiative. The participants then went to Governor's Beach, where they actively contributed to the cleaning of the coast, equipped with cleaning materials provided by CYMEPA.
In total, 26 adults and 31 students took part in the action, collecting sufficient amounts of waste and sending a strong message to protect the environment.
Environmental protection and the education of the new generation are key pillars of our Corporate Social Responsibility strategy. Through actions like this, we strengthen environmental awareness and promote volunteerism in practice, said Thanos Patrikis, General Manager and CEO of the company.
VTTI Cyprus, as the organizer, fully undertook the transportation of the students and offered commemorative hats to all participants, as well as a meal at the "Faros" restaurant after the action was completed.
Through this collaboration, the company confirms its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, investing in the education of the new generation and the protection of the natural wealth of Cyprus. The active participation of the students of Agia Anna Primary School, a certified Eco-School, reinforces the message that environmental awareness begins with education and action.
