For the period from January 2023 to August 2024, more than 48,000 work permits were issued in Cyprus for highly qualified employees and members of their families. This was announced by the Minister of the Interior Konstantino John. These figures clearly demonstrate that Cyprus strengthens the status of the Center for Attraction for International Specialists. Employees from which countries are most in demand?
According to statistics, for a year and a half, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Cyprus registered 48,212 work and accommodation for highly qualified workers and their families. Of these, 20,997 - for employees of companies with foreign capital, 25,053 - according to the family reunification program, and 2 162 for dependent applicants (parents).
Among the countries of the origin of applicants are the leaders:
- Russia (33,517 people), - Ukraine (3 504), - Belarus (2 713), - Israel (1 957), - India (1,230) - Lebanon (1 193).
To participate in an accelerated scheme, employers (Cypriot companies with majority participation of citizens from countries outside the EU) must provide a deposit of 200,000 euros in the company's account. The employee must: - have a university degree or at least two years of experience in the specialty; -conclude a two-year contract with the Jacket company; - receive at least 2,500 euros per month; - have medical insurance and place of residence in Cyprus.
The program also provides for the reunification of the family, and the spouses of employees receive free access to the Cyprus labor market.
In addition, in 2025, Cyprus demonstrated powerful dynamics in the registration of companies: the number of new foreign firms increased by 30%, which confirms the growth of investors' trust and the strategic attractiveness of the island as a European hub.
