How a flight to Paris turned into a wonderful excursion back to Cyprus

November 21, Larnaca - Paris, flight CY380.

Well, our “flight to Paris” turned into a wonderful excursion... only back to Cyprus.

We flew for an hour and suddenly decided to return. Where do we sit? For what? What's happening? Nobody, naturally, said. Apparently this is a secret mission and we were the odd ones out at the briefing.

The toilets are closed (of course, why would they be for 200 people sitting in a confined space?). There is no food - but we were given one cookie. One. A real Michelin tasting set. It felt like we were visiting the airline, and they forgot that they needed to tell guests where they were being taken. First they announced: “Take your things and leave the plane.” After a couple of minutes, “Stay where you are.” We are already waiting for the third option: “Stand up, but mentally sit.”

As a result: we flew back, there was zero information, the service was minimal, and the cookie became a symbol of this trip. Looks like this was our welcome home snack.

But we are four beautiful girls who do not lose heart under any circumstances. Paris is cancelled, but champagne is not. We sit, beam, laugh, pretend that this is a VIP lounge.

Thank you for the emotions, and Paris... we’ll try to get there in another life. Or on another flight.

And this is what we decided: even if Cyprus Airlines gave us a little “bonjour–au revoir” in one bottle, one thing remains unchanged. Paris will still be there! And very soon, because such girls even get there on foot if necessary.
