In Cyprus, the anti -corruption movement "Zorro" appeared.
On October 1, on the Independence Day of Cyprus, activists distributed thousands of leaflets in Cyprus calling for an uprising against corrupt politicians.
We give the full text of the appeal!
“The presidents of the Republic of Cyprus, prosecutors, ministers, judges, police chiefs, member members, senior officials, bankers - all of you, old and new. All you, who have destroyed our Cyprus for decades, are accused of betraying Cyprus and its people. With your claims and inaction, with your ignorance and corruption, you brought Cyprus citizens to destruction, despair, hopelessness, economic impoverishment and even suicide. Because of your actions, hundreds of thousands of people were on the verge of poverty. For years, you put your friends and relatives in significant positions - positions that determine the economy and fate of the whole people. You have people who are completely incapable of managing us, people without ambitions, without a goal, without patriotism, leading people to nowhere. You do not pay for every mistake and every negligence, you force us to pay us for your stupidity, your mistakes, your mismanagement and your embezzlement. But someday you will be responsible for this. Even those who are nothing He does not and sits in his posts, closing his mouth to maintain his position, is equally guilty.
Today, the state debt of Cyprus seems acceptable, since we continue to receive income from the sale of our land. But when this process stops and the “bubble” bursts, we will face what Greece has already encountered. Lenders will demand their money, the “three” will introduce a reduction in salaries and pension taxes for everyone, even for those close to power, and state institutions, such as Eac and Cyta, will be sold out. In fact, we will cease to be an independent state and will be controlled by others. This is the goal: that is why they give us billions of debt and urge to continue to occupy until the boom comes. And then, Mr. President?
In 2013, having a public debt of only 13 billion, Cyprus was in the “garbage” category and at the last moment escaped from the three leaders. Today, the debt reached 27 billion. This new “bubble” is not an exchange shock and not a simple haircut, but a threat of complete ruin and impoverishment of the people.
We are the only country in Europe that suffered from reducing deposits and securities. Even today, with all our sales of land, “golden passports” and billion losses on stocks, we remain the worst economy in Europe. And, as if it were few, 10 billion dollars from our social insurance funds were plundered.
If we do not react now, it will be too late. It is not enough for 10, 20 or 50 thousand people to go to the streets - it will be a failure. We must go out: 800,000 citizens, children, students, parents and grandparents. With a cry, we demand justice, condemnation of all those who brought us to this chaos, and, above all, changes in the constitution.
No one can be higher than the law and justice - neither the minister, nor the judge, nor the president.
Cypriots - Greeks, Pontic, Maronites, Armenians: Stand up! Rise from your chairs so that you can look in your children in the eye. They drink your blood, they destroy the lives of your children.
Youth, students, where are you going? What are you doing? Remember how fifteen -year -old children took to the streets, protesting against the English conquerors. The children who sacrificed the gallows were executed by a cruel empire - and yet they rebelled so that you could be free and independent today. And you? Do you bow your head in front of a few hundred loafers? Before the Masons, before political deputies who enrich and make criminal mistakes against you, not carrying punishments for this. Drug dealers kill our children, they are in the government, in parties.
You see them every day. They voted for the ban on protests. It was they who shot at the foundations of democracy. Do not stay the audience. Do not become accomplices. Rise! The only thing they can do is to illegally increase their salaries! For corruption? And for the people - not a cent!
But we will not be silent! Cyprus is our homeland, our house, and our duty to protect it. Cyprus is not France, not Greece and not America. We can make them nowhere to hide, make them ashamed to leave the house. Enough fatalism!
Our children deserve the future. They deserve to live with dignity, have a family, build and create.
The worst is also ahead if we are inactive. But we can change the course of events! Justice, perhaps, is gone, but power is in our hands. (But when the law does not serve as justice, justice should not serve the law.) Our courts entered the second place in Europe for delays in consideration of cases.
As PapaFlesas would say: “Have a heart! Have faith! Remove! Act! For yourself, for yourself, for your children, for your children for your children! If not, then sit where you cowardly sat on your knees all the years.”
Cyprus can become one of the richest states in Europe with a fair and denouncing government. Those who make mistakes, inaction and misses, damaging the economy of Cyprus and its people, must be punished. We demand the disclosure of all scandals, including archives of the last twenty years, and establishing control from the European mechanism. We demand the return of all the stolen and condemning the perpetrators.
