A large conference on the recognition of two states is held tonight in New York on the Palestinian issue.
The conference is being held while Britain, Australia, Canada and Portugal have already announced that they will recognize the Palestinian state, and are expected to announce decisions on recognition of the Palestinian state, France and Belgium tonight.
Already, 147 of the 193 Member States of the United Nations, including Cyprus, have recognized the Palestinian state, based on the unilateral proclamation declared by the Palestinian liberation organization in 1988.
The United States and Israel have announced that they will boycott today's conference, which the US representative in the United Nations described as a "circus", with assistance and reward of terrorism.
Analysts do not exclude Israel, in response, to announce an attachment to part of the occupied West Bank.
It is also not possible to announce measures against the countries that recognized the Palestinian state, and especially against France, which, together with Saudi Arabia, had the initiative of convergence of today's conference.
