The International Contemporary Dance Festival and Performance Open House returns from October 2 to October 5 with a dynamic program that includes performances, events, walking activities, music, parallel events and new collaborations.
The 16th Open House Festival unfolds in scenes, streets, beaches and parks, presenting domestic and international productions. At the heart of the body, their landscapes and their stories as tools of art, resistance and connection. It is a four -day dedicated to reflection and movement; an open invitation for the public to experience modern performance through fresh, unexpected routes.
On October 2, at 19:30 we start at the Versus - Second Municipal Market with a welcome. The festival opens with the prey of Alexis Vassiliou at the same venue at 8:30 pm with a rhythmic, acoustic and physical ritual unfolding and marking the first day of the festival. The show is aimed at people over 18 years. The second day (03/10) program begins at 19:00. We make an appointment at the 4 lantern bridge for the Light Points of Julia Georgiadou, Sevina Floridou and Vasilis Petinaris, a walking guided tour of important historical, architectural and social spots of the city that are illuminated. The walk is enriched with the choreographic look of Zoe Eleftherios, Elizabeth Panagiotou and Yiannis Economidis, who through the movement talk to space and time, reflecting the environment and stories.
At 8:30 pm, we end up at the Multipurpose Workshop where it hosts the show - The Body Symphonic by Lebanese choreographer Charlie Khalil Prince. In the Charlie universe, the body is a place of resistance that reveals new and unbound mythologies allowing self -esteem and rhizome.
On October 4, Eleftheria Socrates, along with Konstantina Skalionontas, Georgia Andreou, Rose, Christos Inngegianni, Elizabeth Panagiotou and Artemis blessed us inviting us to walks one by one under the title of Walking Lovink. What is the relationship between walking with power and love? Reflecting the idea of love as a continuous journey to a "not yet established" place, every walk will end with the creation of a mini -personal -manifesto. Slots are available at 10: 30–12: 00, 15: 00–16: 30, 17: 30–19: 00. Positions are limited and the issue of zero tickets is necessary.
In the afternoon at 15:00 -18: 00 we are transferred to the breakwaters of Molos to the seafood for the lasting Slips Away from You, Petros Konnari and Belinda Papavassiliou. Peter and Belinda call on the public to stay in the space as long as they want as they explore how they coexist with the real and fantasy elements of this landscape and how their bodies become expanding through an ever -changing practice. Performance is offered free of charge without reservation. Headphones will be provided at the point of monitoring it.
Then Melina Sophocleous shares the refreshed version of Don't You Just Love Melting? at the Multipurpose Workshop at 19:30. It invites the public to a charged, unveiled landscape, where intensity and liberation coexist. Free admission will be kept priority.
To close the third day of the Festival we go to the Rialto Theater at 8:30 pm for the Arkadi Zaides Necropolis project. The project is based on the list compiled since 1993 by the United for Intercultural Action network, recording refugees and immigrants who died on the way to Europe. In the latest edition of 2025, 66,519 deaths are recorded. Although there are no bodies to dance to the city of the dead, it is precisely this absence - the collective body of Necropolis - Zaides comes to life. MiHub (Migration Information Hub) will follow.
On October 5 at 10:00 the Running Fluent Initiative and Chinese and Cypriots Fellowship invite you to participate in a breakfast intercultural dance jam session in Renaissance Square (Kokos Andronikou). A dance and kinesiology exchange action by different nationalities suitable for all individuals and ages coordinated by choreographer Vicky Callas. Come with your culture, your energy and your movements for a collective dance, conversation and coffee. Are you an artist? Bring your art with you and come to improvise.
Then, Maria Papageorgiou invites us to meet at the vaulted fountain on Ismet Pasha Street for a walking choreographic solo for mourning in motion entitled Walking Into by heading to the dry River Garylis, our creator invites us to observe how to observe us. The action will take place twice at 17: 00–17: 30 & 18: 00–18: 30. Limited number of seats. The zero ticket is required. There will be headphones available at the starting point. At 19:30, ETHHE Hosts the production of ARmin Hokmi's Shiraz. Seven dancers pay tribute to the historic Shiraz Arts Festival Festival (Iran, 1967-1977), which radically changed the recruitment of the performing arts. A pulsating dance, full of magic and nostalgia.
The 16th Open House ends at 9pm with a Concert-Performance by X.ypno, entitled We Out in The Field, Like Grass! In the foyer of Etha. "An indoor space where music rootes like a weed, unbelievable Jaei." Free admission. We say it there with a drink and even more dance.
The festival is enriched with parallel actions:
The Performative Scripture program Dear Festival & Friends edited and coordinated by Rhodes Bomb and Betina Panagiotara invites artists, researchers, writers and members of the public to attend the Festival's program collectively and to write in the form of letters.
