Delegations from the Regions of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Central Greece, the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, the Municipalities of Alexandroupolis and Didymoteicho presented their tourism product at the Turkish Travel Agencies Association (Tursab), in Constantinople.
As part of the visit of the Greek Regional Delegations, it was organized on Friday, October 10, at the Sismanoglio Palace of the Consulate General of Greece in Constantinople, an event with the participation of representatives of the tourism industry from the two countries.
In his speech, the Consul General of Greece in Constantinople, Ambassador Konstantinos Koutras, pointed out that over 1,200,000 Turkish citizens visited Greece in 2024.
"Special reference is also worth the" Gateway's Theory "program, which continued with great success, after the approval and relevant directions of the European Commission," Mr Koutras noted, stressing that "the possibility of granting seven days for Turkish citizens in twelve Greek islands".
Ambassador Const. Kutras also referred to the ever -increasing interest shown by Greek citizens in getting to know the wealth, history and vibrancy of Turkey.
"Today's presence of Greek regional representatives and their cooperation with Turkish counterparts is a clear example of this disposition to strengthen tourism relations," he said.
He concluded that he was well aware of the potential of tourism as a channel of cooperation and friendship between the two countries and wished these initiatives to continue to bring our peoples closer, through culture, hospitality and cooperation.
