The role of Cyprus in the rebuilding of Gaza is important.
President Christodoulides referred in particular to yesterday's telephone conversation with the Israeli prime minister who raises the issue of effective controls.
The Republic of Cyprus, the President said, is the country that through the Cyclops Center in Larnaca is able to do these controls but also to assist in many other aspects of security, with the aim of implementing the agreement.
In addition, the president said that Cyprus is the representative of the European Union in the region, and assumes the presidency of the Council of the European Union in less than 90 days.
