The European Commission has begun an investigation, after several reports reported that the Hungarian secret services were trying to recruit European Union officials in Brussels as informants.
According to reports, a secret Hungarian agent had also been seconded to the European Commission, where he worked in security files and had access to sensitive data.
Budapest has not reacted to allegations at present.
