We know what it means to have your country divided, said the President of Moldova, who faced the face of occupation from the roof of Nicosia City Hall and toured with President Christodoulidis along the ceasefire line.
The President of the Republic, when asked about Moldova's support in the Cyprus conflict, said that he thanked the President for her country's long-standing attitude.
Moldova, he said, supports the territorial integrity, the independence of the Republic of Cyprus and the solution within the framework of the resolutions of the United Nations and the European Union.
For this reason, he added, the great effort is being made on the part of the country to become a member state of the Union as an insurance cover for the future.
Maya Sandu said that Moldova faces a similar problem, pointing out that international law must be respected and problems solved peacefully.
