A 50-year-old man fell victim to a phone scam and lost the sum of 6,860 euros when an unknown person called him and told him he was a Revolut employee.
According to the Police, the complainant stated that he received a call on his mobile phone with the indication Revolut Bank.
The caller claimed that suspicious activity was detected on the complainant's account and that third parties were attempting to access it. This is how he managed to extract their security codes and withdraw the money from the complainant's account.
The Police appeal to the public to be especially careful, stressing that banks and financial institutions never ask for passwords, PINs or transaction confirmation codes over the phone.
