Indirect negotiations between the United States and Iran, mediated by Oman, concluded in Geneva, with the Sultanate's Foreign Minister speaking of significant progress.
He said the talks will resume soon after the delegations return to their capitals for further consultations, adding that technical discussions are expected to take place next week in Vienna.
Earlier, an Iranian official speaking to Reuters said there was a possibility of a framework agreement, provided Washington separated nuclear from non-nuclear issues, although important gaps remain.
A little earlier, however, the news website Axios wrote that the American envoys, Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, were "disappointed" by what they heard from the Iranians during the morning negotiation.
