The President of the Republic is in Brussels, and today he will participate in the Summit of the European Council. In the focus of the discussions the Ukrainian, issues of defense and security, competitiveness and green transition.

Last night, he addressed an event ahead of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

For this purpose, he visited the renovated building of the Permanent Representation of Cyprus to the European Union.

Seventy days before assuming the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, President Christodoulidis stated that he feels the same pride that he felt when he served in 2012 in the Permanent Delegation, as the press representative of the first Cypriot Presidency.

He emphasized that the upcoming Presidency is, above all, a golden national opportunity for the Republic of Cyprus, to prove that its footprint is not measured by square kilometers, but by the seriousness, professionalism, dedication and reliability with which it serves the common European interest.

This morning, the president of the Republic will participate in the European People's Party Summit and then he will have a meeting with like-minded leaders of member states on immigration.

The work of the Summit will follow.
