In Larnaca, preparations are in full swing for the two final concerts of the famous British singer Ed Sheeran's tour. They will take place on September 7 and 8 at the Larnaca – Land of Tomorrow site and promise to be the largest in the history of Cyprus.
Performance organizers report that more than 45,000 spectators are expected to attend the concerts. This is a record in the history of live music in Cyprus.
Not only local residents gathered for the musician’s concert. Fans from 42 countries bought tickets, which means the event is taking on an international scale. Hoteliers in Larnaca say that hotels in the city will be overcrowded during the event.
This week there is a meeting between employees of the Main Police Department and representatives of the authorities and city services in order to ensure security during concerts. Larnaca Municipality and fire services are also undergoing training.
Ed Sheeran will perform hits from his Mathematics world tour, ending in Cyprus. Calum Scott will warm up the audience, and other surprises for fans are promised during the performances.
Tickets for the September 7 concert sold out within a couple of days after sales opened earlier this year. The organizers decided to hold a second concert on September 8, for which you can still buy tickets. The cost varies from 115 to 180 euros.
Two months earlier, the famous singer Tom Jones performed at the same venue Larnaca – Land of Tomorrow; the concert was attended by about 5,000 people. Such interest in the musical performances of world stars is considered promising.
