Not only church services and Easter cake, but also large -scale festivals are connected with Easter in Cyprus. This year, the cities and villages of the island prepared saturated programs on April 20 and 21: from the tug of rope to concerts, barbecue and drawing of 1000 euros. We collected a list of six Easter festivals.
Aiya-Napa
Aiya Napa’s municipality invites adults and children to “a bright week under clarnets and violins in the courtyard of the Virgin”. This is an Easter event filled with music, songs, games and treats. It will be held in the courtyard of the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary Aiya-Napa (on the map) on April 21. Start at 17:00.
The musicians Moses Mark (Clarnet), Athena Cullen (vocal), Lucas Georgiu-Cremastos (violin), Nicos Zimaras (violin), Antonis Corisis (flute and vocals), Alexander Haralambus (UD), Savvas Abraham (shock).

Zigi
On the central square of the village (on the map), festive events will be held on April 20 and 21. The program includes traditional games, including the lotto, the Flaron Easter pies, the sale of food, sweets and drinks. Geroskip
The municipality of Geroskipa invites to Easter celebrations on April 20-22.
April 20 at 12:00 at the church of St. Paraskeva (on the map) can take part in the traditional beat of painted eggs. Easter games will begin at 17:00, a playground with a trampoline will work. At 19:30 - the performance of musical groups on the Square of the village (on the map).
April 21 at 14:30 at the municipal stadium. Mikhalis Kiprian (on the map) will be a football tournament.
At 19:30, an Easter concert will begin on the village area.
April 22, at 14:30, on a football field in a colony (on the map), adults and children are invited to take part in Easter games and see the performance of dance groups. For children, games and facialing will be organized.
Lefkara
The municipality of Lefkara and the Youth Center organize festive events on April 21 and 22.
On April 21, in the courtyard of the primary school of Lefkara (on the map) at 15:00 traditional games and dances will be held. Visitors are promised to drink drinks and free barbecue.
April 22 there will also be a day dedicated to children. Start at 11:00. Children will be able to jump on a trampoline, draw, participate in master classes, listen to music and dance.
Kato Pirgos
The village council of Kato Pirgos congratulates everyone on Easter and invites to his festive festival. On April 21, traditional games will be organized here, including tug of rope, running in bags, races with boiled eggs, lotto and other Cyprus games, for example, Ziziros, Mantic or Susa. The holiday will begin at 16:00 with the orchestra’s performance. On the map.
Kacopetria
On April 20 and 21, the courtyard of the primary school of Kacopetria (on the map) will be filled with participants in the Easter celebration.
April 20 at 15:30 will begin entertainment for children. In kiosks, traditional treats will be sold: pancakes, mahalepi and jelly, as well as drinks.
