New incident against Greek Cypriot farmers in Mammari

Greek Cypriot farmers reported a serious incident of attack against them, by members of the occupying army in the dead zone of the Mammari area.

According to the complaint, more than 20 Turkish soldiers and fake police attempted to arrest a young farmer and his father while they were cultivating their field, about 300 meters from a Turkish outpost.

It was also reported that the blue-collar workers, who arrived at the scene, were limited to observing and recording the incident.

The President of the Republic condemned the incident against Greek Cypriot farmers in Mammari, characterizing it as an act of piracy by the occupying Turkish army.

He stated that the Government is in constant contact with the United Nations and the Cyprus Police and that all the necessary measures are being taken, with the safety of the residents and farmers operating in the specific areas being the primary consideration.

He also said that it is definitely a topic that he will raise during the next meeting with Tufan Erhiurman.
