A partial truce in Ukraine, Erdogan proposed to Putin

A partial truce on Ukrainian territory was proposed to the President of Russia by his Turkish counterpart, Tayyip Erdogan, during their meeting on the sidelines of a Summit in Turkmenistan.

Erdogan told Putin that a limited ceasefire on the Ukrainian front, such as an end to both sides' targeting of energy facilities and ports, would be beneficial.

According to a statement from the Turkish Presidency, Putin and Erdogan discussed in detail the overall peace efforts, as well as the thorny issue of frozen Russian funds.

Erdogan, attempting to capitalize on the issue to his own advantage, repeated his proposal to host peaceful meetings in all forms.
