Brief News Review of the Day: June 25

Demand for electricity is growing due to abnormal heat. From stores, a frozen fillet with a duck breast is removed. The municipal pool in Nicosia will work in the same mode. The new "dog" beach Potamia is open near Protaras. The Cyprus government approved grants on electric cars.

- In conditions of an abnormal heat on Cyprus, the demand for electricity grew to the level of July, with a peak consumption of about 1000 mw and up to 840 mW in the evening. At the same time, renewable sources provide up to 65% of the daily production, but at night their contribution is almost absent. There is a production reserve of about 1066 mW thanks to traditional stations, including the inclusion of additional power in Vasiliko. However, in the evening hours between 18:00 and 22:00, periodic interruptions are possible if the reserve is exceeded or an accident occurs.

- The Ministry of Health officially recalled from the shelves frozen pile fillet ducks with skin, produced in Poland (Lot No. 2407930679, shelf life until 19.03.2026), after detecting Salmonella Enteritidis bacteria in the sample of the presence of bacteria - the product was recognized as unsuitable for consumption. The importer and the distributor are ordered to immediately withdraw the goods from trade. Consumers are recommended to return the purchased packages or destroy them.

- The municipality of Nicosia confirmed that the public basin will open again on June 27 after large -scale repair without increasing input prices (the tariff will remain at the level of 2021) and will work according to the usual daily graphics.

- The municipality of Paralymni -Derinia announced the beach of Potamia with a new official place for walking and swimming dogs. Free sun loungers, umbrellas and toilets are installed there. Visitors must have a veterinary passport and vaccination certificates of pets. It will be necessary to keep the animals on a leash, and aggressive breeds are in muzzles, and remove waste behind them. For violation of the rules, fines are provided.

- The Cyprus government approved a new plan for co -financing the purchase of electric vehicles and hybrids in the amount of € 2.5 million from the state budget. Earlier, at the third stage of the program, 97 grants for cars and 18 for motorcycles remained - they will be allocated in the first place. After their exhaustion, the distribution of 260 new subsidies will begin.
