Diplomatic relations between Israel and Bolivia are being restored today, two years after their interruption.
As announced by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Gideon Shaar will sign with his Bolivian counterpart, the resumption of bilateral diplomatic relations. Bolivia has become the first Latin American country to cut ties with Tel Aviv in protest at the war of retaliation launched in the Gaza Strip. The decision was taken by Socialist President Luis Arce. In October 2025, the center-right Rodrigo Paz was elected President of Bolivia, who also chose to restore relations with Israel.
