The reaction of PASYDY and the Cyprus Police Association after the reports of the Chief of Police about different working hours of the members of the force and the reduction of working days from 19.5 days to 4.7 days.
In a statement, they express their discomfort and indignation at the insistence, as they note, of the Chief of Police to proceed today with public announcements to vary the hours.
They point out that the possible implementation of the arbitrary decisions of the Chief of Police constitute a blatant circumvention of the labor institutions with unprecedented practices and tactics since, they note, the working hours are a fundamental and sacred right for all workers and cannot be modified unilaterally.
PASYDY and SAK appeal to Chief Themistos Arnaoutis to have second thoughts, while warning that any implementation of the decision will irreparably shake the existing mutual climate of trust between the two sides with all the negative consequences.
The plenary session of the SAK will meet in an emergency to study the issue and take reaction measures.
