The Larnaki police strengthened the struggle with street races after Kiru Prospect Kiprian turned into a night route for racers and motorcyclists.
Since the beginning of 2025, the road police conducted eight large -scale raids, during which 72 vehicles were confiscated.
According to the police, 18 cars were sent to the Department of Road Transport for an emergency inspection, since visible technical changes were identified on them. The rest were taken to the Larnaki road traffic control, where measures were taken in relation to their owners - from non -judge to criminal prosecution.
Despite the fact that the avenue installed more tracking cameras than on any other city of the city, the system could not prevent the rating of flights. Violators simply remove license plates from motorcycles and modified cars to avoid fixing violations.
The police confirmed that the campaign to reduce noise, preventing accidents and additional patrolling will be continued. The authorities also plan to establish another stationary camera and build two pedestrian crossings for slowing down the movement.
Spiru Avenue Cyprian, stretching for two kilometers and connecting the key areas of Larnaki with the port, remains one of the most loaded roads of the city. However, in the evenings, he becomes a place of mass violations, which causes numerous complaints of local residents.
