Tsitsikostas: The National Guard has the responsibility of controlling and coordinating volatile media

The National Guard, in whatever way it can, contributes in cooperation with the competent government agencies in the mission of fires, the House leader said, noting that with a political decision he is now responsible for the volatile media.

Speaking on the morning itinerary, Lieutenant General George Tsitsikostas explained that the use of flying media remained as they were, that is, under the responsibility of the Department of Forests and Fire Brigade. He added that the National Guard is responsible for operational control and coordination and ensures that volatile media is ready to take part in fire extinguishing operations.

Asked about the time of flight response to the recent fire, Lieutenant General Tsitsikostas said the times were recorded in business centers. The order noted, had been given at 13 and fifty of that day and at 14 and 18 minutes the first was thrown. He also pointed out that there were 13 volatile media in the air.

By commissioning the volatile media to the National Guard, he pointed out, it was given the advantage of flying on the basis of some international standards.
