President Christodoulides travels for New York in order to participate in the eighty -one General Assembly of the United Nations.
On Wednesday, September 24, the President of the Republic will address the United Nations General Assembly. From the step of the International Organization, it will highlight the steadfast commitment of the Republic of Cyprus to international legality and the need for a fair and sustainable solution to the Cyprus problem, based on UN resolutions and the authorities of the European Union.
On September 25, President Christodoulides will have a bilateral meeting with the Secretary -General at the headquarters of the Organization, in which they will discuss the latest developments in the Cyprus issue as part of Antonio Guterres' efforts to resume negotiations.
Subsequently, he will give a lunch to the representatives of the five permanent members of the Security Council.
On Saturday, September 27, the new trilateral meeting of the President of the Republic will take place with the Secretary -General of the United Nations and the leader of the Turkish Cypriots. The meeting demonstrates Antonio Guterres' dedication to efforts to resume substantive negotiations.
Earlier, on the morning of September 23, President Christodoulides will attend a reception quoted by the Secretary General for the Heads of State, and in the afternoon of the same day, he will attend with his wife at the reception cited by the President of the United States.
During his stay in the American big city, President Christodoulides will have a circle of contacts with heads of state and governments, leaderships of international organizations, as well as leading business forces in the fields of energy, technology and financial services.
At the same time, it will attend events of the Cypriot homogeneity, which is a valuable support in promoting national positions and maintaining strong links with the United States.
