In the top priorities of Cyprus the gender equality

Cyprus reaffirms the UN its commitment to women's rights.

At the eightyst meeting of the 3rd Committee of the UN General Assembly, the permanent representative, Ambassador Maria Michael, reiterated Cyprus's steady commitment to promoting gender equality and the elimination of discrimination and violence against women and girls.

As a newly elected member of the Council of Human Rights for the period 2025–2027, he said that gender equality, women's strengthening and the elimination of violence against women and girls are among Cyprus' top priorities.
