On Sunday during the day, June 15, the passenger flight, which was from Paphos (Cyprus) to Bristol (UK), made an emergency landing in Izmir (Turkey) about 1 hour 20 minutes after departure.
The cause of emergency landing was the smell of smoke in the passenger salon, which caused the concern of the crew and passengers. According to the British media, the airline confirmed an unscheduled landing, saying that the technical malfunction was the cause of the incident. The exact causes of the smell are not yet disclosed - a technical examination of the aircraft is carried out.
All passengers on board were safely evacuated after landing. According to representatives of the airline, not a single person was injured, and security remained a priority at all stages of flight.
“Passengers were provided with rooms in the nearest hotels. We apologize for the inconvenience and do everything possible to continue their trip, ”the carrier said in the official statement of the carrier.
To deliver passengers to the destination to Bristol, the airline organized an additional flight, the departure of which was scheduled after the completion of all the necessary procedures.
