Unemployment in Cyprus has been steadily declining in recent years. The able -bodied population has the work and choice of vacancies, which helps to improve the purchasing power of residents and increases domestic consumption. Fresh statistics of the labor market.

According to the seasonally adjusted Eurostat data, the unemployment rate in Cyprus in July 2025 amounted to 5%. This means small growth compared to 4.7% in July last year. According to the Eurostat, this corresponds to 27,000 unemployed.

Among men, 4.5% were unemployed, which corresponds to the level of July 2024, while among women - 5.6% compared with 4.9% in July last year.

And what about the EU?

The unemployment rate in the EU in July 2025 amounted to 5.9%, which was slightly lower than 6% in June 2025 and July 2024.

According to the Eurostat, in July 2025, there were 13.025 million unemployed in the EU. Thus, since June 2025, the unemployment rate in the EU decreased by 165,000 people, and compared to July 2024 - by 105,000 people.

In July 2025, there were 2.801 million unemployed young people in the EU (under the age of 25). The unemployment rate among youth in the EU amounted to 14.4%. Compared to June 2025, it decreased by 81,000 people, and compared to July 2024 - by 189,000.

In July 2025, the unemployment rate among women in the EU amounted to 6%, decreasing compared to 6.1%in the previous month, and among men - 5.8%, which corresponds to the level of June 2025.
