In Iran, more than 1,500 death row inmates were executed last year, according to a Norway-based human rights NGO.
This is the highest annual number of executions the Organization has recorded in the last 35 years.
The head of the Organization stated that other executions are expected to be confirmed, characterizing their increase as unprecedented.
